Suitable for microbial to cell culture, scale up to scale down, or batch to fed-batch process, the BioFlo 320 has the right combination of features to get the job done, all within an ultra-compact footprint.

  • Flexible
    • Compatible with sixteen (16) interchangeable autoclavable vessels, and the complete portfolio of single-use (BioBLU®) vessels
    • Extensive working volume range from 250 mL – 40 L on a single control platform
    • Available with Eppendorf proprietary packed-bed and cell lift impeller designs, including the first single-use vessel BioBLU vessel to utilize this technology (BioBLU 5p)
    • Available with up to four (4) universal connections for analog or digital Mettler-Toledo ISM sensors
    • Built-in optical pH sensing technology for use with the BioBLU single-use vessels

    • Up to six (6) integrated pumps capable of operating in fixed speed duty cycle or variable speed modes. Pumps can be run in clockwise or counterclockwise rotations to reduce clutter caused by wrapped pump tubing

      • Automatic gas mixing algorithms for simplified control
      • New ten-point cascade features for sophisticated control strategies
      • Built in elapsed fermentation timer for batch management through time profile

    • Available in left and right handed orientations to maximize lab space efficiency, with hemispherical vessel nest design for ultra-compact footprint
    • IP68 rated connections on utility panel protects sensitive electronic components (*requires mated connector)
    • IP22 rated connection for power entry

Factory-installed options

The BioFlo 320 combines optimal features in one flexible bench-scale bioprocessing system - many of them as factory-installed options.

  • Control Station Orientation
    • Left and right handed orientations available to maximize lab space efficiency
  • Front-mounted Peristaltic Pumps
    • Up to four front mounted peristaltic pumps with Watson Marlow pump head. All pumps operate in fixed speed duty cycle or variable speed modes, and can be run in clockwise or counterclockwise rotations to reduce clutter caused by wrapped pump tubing
  • Sparge and Overlay Thermal Mass Flow Controller Drawers
    • Interchangeable drawers with multiple combinations of thermal mass flow controllers for sparge and overlay gas control of 8 independently regulated gas supplies. Designed for ease of installation in the field
  • Sensor Modules
    • The control station is equipped standard with two universal connections for analog or digital Mettler-Toledo ISM sensors. A secondary sensor module is optional for a total of four universal connections
  • Optical pH Module
    • Presens optical pH sensor module for non-invasive pH monitoring in Eppendorf BioBLU Single-use Vessels (transmitter sold separately)
  • Equipment Connection Module
    • Built-in control for two variable speed pumps @ 0.1-200 RPM (pumps are sold separately)
    • Built-in communication for vessel volume monitoring (scales are sold separately)
  • Compatible with BioBLU Single-use Vessels.

  • BioCommand® SCADA
    • Eppendorf offers 3 next-generation software packages designed to enhance your ability to monitor and control fermentation and cell culture processes via PC
    • These packages provide tools for research, optimization, and if needed, the security and audit trails to meet your regulatory requirements
  • Validation Package
    • Our comprehensive validation package includes functional test reports, drawing and electrical schematics, material and calibration certifications
  • Variable Speed Pumps
    • In addition to 4 front panel pumps the control station can host up to 2 stand-alone variable speed pumps (0.1-200 rpm) operated in clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation to reduce clutter caused by wrapped pump tubing
  • External Scales
    • Optional high-precision stand-alone scales are available for direct integration into the control station for vessel volume monitoring
    • Up to 8 stand-alone scales (6-35 kg) are available for connection to the control station through an 8-channel RS232-to-USB converter - each invididually monitored through control station software for accurate feedback on sensitive additions
  • Control up to eight (8) stations from a single control station.
